FINANCIAL

In the financial sector, security is paramount, but seamless integration of systems is vital for growth.

CLIENT: Leasing service firm

CHALLENGE: Security suitable for banking industry clients

When we started working with this company in 2006, it had around 20 employees and one office. Today it has more than 60 employees and three locations. Its growth has resulted from landing more large banks as clients, which requires much greater security measures. The SSAE 16 audits that we helped them with early in our relationship are no longer adequate; today we work closely with the staff on SOC 2 compliance and participate in due diligence meetings with prospective clients. We’ve also increased their internal and external security posture with multifactor authentication, real-time monitoring in the network, and security training for all staff to help prevent phishing attacks. BrightWire co-founder Gordon Carlisle stepped in as the firm’s interim CTO at one point, and the current CTO relies heavily on our expertise in security and systems management.

CLIENT: Financial adviser

CHALLENGE: Integrating line-of-business applications

This firm uses nearly a dozen LOB applications. We stood them up an environment in a data center that provides seamless integration and access from multiple sites through a cloud solution (OS33) with compliance and auditing tools designed specifically for financial firms. This platform offers scalability and uniform control and logs all activity in the network.

CLIENT: Title company

CHALLENGE: Network that functions across many locations

This company has more than a dozen offices plus remote workers. When we started working with them, they were using virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technologies located in a Data Center, but it was slow and unreliable. The data center infrastructure was fairly new, however, so rather than replacing it, our engineers conducted a thorough study digging through the configurations to identify all of the bottlenecks. Our team had it functioning optimally in a third of the time it would have required to replace the system saving the client significant cost. Today, we continue to improve usability and security, and BrightWire also coordinates with this client’s five application vendors to identify and resolve issues before they cause problems like latency and software lockups.
