CHALLENGE: Secure sharing of images

This facility needed to upgrade its firewall and create secure DICOM connections to regional clinics for image sharing. This office needed tunnels to several other locations, ranging in size from a regional hospital to small private practice offices. Hospitals have exacting standards for these tunnels, and small offices often lack the expertise to create them. BrightWire coordinated each connection with several regional IT groups. We also helped this facility establish secure and effective connections to remote transcriptionists.

CLIENT: Independent primary care facility

CHALLENGE: Transition to EMR/EHR solution

This client chose Athena Health’s cloud-based solution for EMR and EHR. We guided them through the platform’s system requirements and how to meet them, which in this case involved replacing some PCs. (It’s a common misconception that all hardware is suitable for all cloud products.) The client’s plan was to migrate patient records to the cloud as they came in for appointments. We helped them manage the HIPPA and HITECH security requirements for that process.
